Our Pack

Our pack is what makes this group fun! We are a social club that organizes greyhound-only play times at various venues in Palm Beach County and neighboring towns. Here are a few of our current and past greyhound pack members.

FAQs

Can any dog come to a Greyhound Meetup event?

Unfortunately no, our events are limited to greyhounds and large, pure-bred sighthounds only  - i.e. Borzoi, Saluki, Galgos, Scottish Deerhounds, Afghan Hounds, etc. Due to the naturally high prey drive of the breed, some of our events may not be suitable for smaller sighthounds, such as Italian Greyhounds or Whippets. ALL DOGS MUST BE SPAYED/NEUTERED. We encourage you to check with event coordinators prior to registration to see if a particular event is suitable for our smaller pure-bred sighthound friends.

How much does each event cost?

Each event venue sets their own registration price. The price will vary by event location and host. The cost to register 1, 2, or 3 dogs is at the discretion of the hosting venue. There may or may not be variable pricing for the number of dogs. Each event will have their prices posted within the event information/registration page. Some events, such as "Sniffari" walks are free!

Is there a limit on the number of dogs I can bring?

We ask that you limit the number of dogs to 3, thereby giving others a chance to attend each event.

Is there a limit on the number of guests I can bring?

Yes. Each venue determines the (human) guest capacity. Guests must be registered in order to attend. NON-REGISTERED GUESTS will NOT be allowed into the event. Guest attendance, capacity & limitations are at the discretion of the venue. Of course, walks are always open to everyone and there is no limit. Thank you for your understanding!

What if I want to register for an event that is showing as 'full'?

Yes, please do register if the event is full. You will be placed on a waiting list and if someone cancels prior to the event date you will be notified of the opening should you wish to attend.

At what age can my dog come to play?
Dogs need to be at least 7 months of age and current on vaccinations.

Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered?
Yes, all dogs must be spayed or neutered.

What vaccinations are required for my dog?
All dogs must show proof of valid, current vaccination records. The most common vaccinations required are Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Each venue has their own specific requirements. You will receive venue specific requirements during the registration process.

What happens if it rains on the event day?
In the case of rain, or inclement weather, you will receive notification on the morning of the event of rain cancellation. Rain during an event is unforeseen and sometimes does occur. In the event of rain during an event, all dogs and owners will be asked to conclude play time. Please see our cancellation policy page for full details on cancellation communication and refunds (paid events).

Are muzzles required?

Yes, we do require muzzles for SOME of our events. If muzzles are required it will be noted in the event details. It is in the best interests of the dogs to make sure they have a fun AND safe time running in the enclosed space. We have a few extra muzzles available on a first come/first serve basis. If you need to use one of our muzzles, please use the contact form to send us your request.

What happens with the money I pay for registration of my dog?

All funds collected for the registration of your dog are paid to the venue hosting the event.

The Greyhound Meetup is a social club and does not profit from events. We are not a charity nor a business. We just like to have FUN!

How often do you have The Greyhound Meetup events?

It depends on the season (summer is too hot for outside events! So there will be less during summer months) and interested venues. As we continue to add events they will be posted on our Facebook page and here on the website. Please check back often to see new events.

Where can I upload pictures or videos I took of my dog to share with everyone else?

You can always share them on our Facebook page! Be sure to tag us #TheGreyhoundMeetupPBC to be included in our social fun.

Where can I provide comments & feedback for a particular event?

We are very interested in all comments and feedback on you and your dog's experience while attending an event. You can send us an email about your experience - thegreyhoundmeetuppbc@gmail.com. Or fill-out the form on our "Contact Us page. This form is also located at the bottom of our web pages. We value your feedback to help us improve and expand our offerings.

We also encourage you to share your experiences on our Facebook page by leaving us a review. Other greyhound owners want to hear directly from pack members like you!
